Project Description
In this project we go through extensive planning to design an Affordable Home in Noblesville, IN using the architectural software Revit. We consider the different components that go into building a house, such as plumbing and electricity, and also calculate the storm water runoff, wastewater, and water supply within the location.
The design of the Affordable House must follow the Habitat for Humanity requirements and must incorporate Universal Design as well as green and sustainable features.
Habitat for Humanity requirement for a three bedroom house include:
Because of the regions drastic climate, the house needs to be able to withstand extreme temperatures of up to 99 degrees Fahrenheit and down to -3 degrees Fahrenheit. On the site plan, the square footage of the house can not surpass 1200 square feet.

- Slab-on-grade foundation
- 5/12 roof pitch
- One window per room
- 12'x13' Master bedroom
- 10'x10' Normal bedroom
- 2 full bathrooms (one in the master bedroom)
- Install HVAC, washer/dryer, plumbing, and electricity
- Kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, and counter-space
